Eat Healthier in Hong Kong: What is Hypertension? | 香港食得更健康: 什麼是高血壓?

Hypertension is a prevalent disease that is roaming our population over decades, and in the foreseeable future there is still not a definite cure. What is behind this disease and how did it become a silent killer among all other cancers? Let’s take a look.

To put it simply, hypertension is when the pressure in your blood vessels is too high (140/90 mmHg or higher). Most people do not get any signs and symptoms before reaching a critical threshold, which then health plummets.

高血壓喺現代人生活中已經看似成為一個無法避免的事實,也沒有一個完全治療方法。但其實有啲咩因素令到佢被稱為都市人的隱形殺手?我地黎睇睇。

簡單而言,當我地上下壓達到 140/90mmHg 的時候,咁就會醫學上診斷為高血壓。但大部份人未到危險血壓時都仲未有任何明顯病徵,令到有唔小人未得到適似的治療。

不健康飲食,靜態生活習慣,煙酒生活,過重

 

Prevention | 預防

Eat more vegetables and fruits. Being physically active. Lose weight if you’re overweight. Keep up with your medical routine and regular doctor’s appointments.

健康飲食習慣。多運動。過重人仕減重。如已患上高血壓者定期覆診及服用處方藥。

For you who is planning to switch your diet into a healthier alternative, I want to recommend you with this grilled chicken salad. Even though its content with meat, its mixture with various amount of veggies also provide you with a way healthier option when compared with others.

對於食唔慣沙律的人我會推薦依款雞肉沙律比你,即使沙律有肉,但係我地沙律的配搭可以有效減小食用鈉同油的份量,為搦心高血壓的你出一份力。
